The engine with no oscillator

BODY has no oscillator, no filter and no envelope — the decay is the envelope. An exciter (click, noise burst, sputter, pitched ping, all four on RESO) strikes a pair of Karplus–Strong strings and a bank of twenty-four modes, and MATL walks the one physical axis between them: plucked string, prepared piano, tubular bell.

The first hardware run said no: 2976 cycles per sample against a ladder that ended at 810. Not the mode bank — DaisySP’s string, recomputing two powf, an atanf and a tanf every sample. Ported onto the 96-sample control tick it costs 4.2× less, and a BODY deck lands at 1395 against SYNTH’s 1764.

One voice per deck, then, which leaves COLOR no chord to voice. So it reads the chord as a quality instead: which way the partials stretch, while DETUNE keeps deciding how far. Shipped as v2.14.0, in the current build.
